lections for open seats are held on the first Tuesday of every April. Interested candidates for open seats must contact the City Clerk around mid December in order to have their names placed on the ballot for the April election. The City Clerk's office can provide exact details on election dates and procedures. For more information, contact that office at (816) 316-4811. Those interested in registering to vote in any local, state, or national election may do so through the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners. They can be contacted at (816) 325-4600. According to State law you must register at least four weeks before the election in order to vote for that election.
