he City of Grandview is a 4th Class City in accordance with the Missouri State Statutes and is governed by a Mayor, who is elected at large, and a six-member Board of Aldermen-two elected from each of the three city wards. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen are responsible for developing policy and creating legislation for the community.

he Mayor and Board of Aldermen appoint a city administrator who is responsible for the general day to day operations of the City. There are seven departments within the City that are directly responsible for providing city services under the overall direction of the City Administrator. These departments are Administration, Finance, Fire, Police, Community Development, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation.
